Four decades. That's how long I've been doing this work — and I mean that not as a resume line, but as a promise. Over forty years of sitting with people through the things that crack a life open: the identity shifts that come with midlife, the isolation that quietly builds, the grief of a body that's changed, the exhaustion of caregiving for someone else while your own needs go unmet. I bring deep expertise in depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, and the complex emotional terrain that emerges as life evolves through its stages. I specialize in working with adults — particularly women, caregivers, and individuals facing chronic health challenges or major life transformations — who are navigating chapters of life that often go unacknowledged and underserved. If you've ever felt like the world was moving too fast while you were standing still, wondering who you are now and what comes next — this is the practice that was built for you.
Matt Cerne, LMHC, M.Ed., MBA, has 25+ years of experience providing therapy to adults. He specializes in anxiety/depression, men's issues and addiction. His strengths-based, person-centered approach fosters a safe and supportive space for healing. Matt also brings insight from his background as a financial analyst in both public and private sectors.
I earned my degree in psychology, and a gap year with Jesuit Volunteer Corps in a social justice setting led me to social work. I use a systems approach, meaning I look at the personal, family, and life factors affecting your well-being. My background in foster care, crisis work, community-based care, and therapy gives me a collaborative, well-rounded perspective.
Hi! Thanks for checking out my profile! My name is Mike and I am glad you're here!
I received my masters degree in counseling from Fitchburg State University in 2017. After graduating, I started my career as a trauma-informed in home family therapist wherein I worked primarily with children, adolescents, and their caregivers teaching communication skills, coping strategies, addressing safety concerns, and working to improve stability in a home environment. Since 2022 I have worked as an outpatient counselor working with a range of clients from ages 6 to adult. I love working with a variety of clients, and focus especially on treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and identity.
Dr. Myers has experience working with a wide range of concerns that present challenges to those seeking to be their optimal self. Together, we will address your identified obstacle and discover the behaviors, emotions, attitudes, relationships, and social conditions that hinder your success.
The idea of going to therapy can be overwhelming, especially when your thoughts and feelings feel out of control, complicated, or just too private to share. Many people have thoughts and feelings they don’t talk about; they don’t want anyone to know about. I believe that choosing to engage in psychotherapy is courageous. Many people who come to therapy feel frustrated or stuck in unhealthy thinking patterns, confusing relationships, and uncertainty about their career. Therapy provides a confidential, non-judgemental place to gain a deeper understanding of your feelings, gain clarity in your thoughts, and learn ways to cope with complicated aspects of life.
I have worked in human services for over 20 years and provided psychotherapy for the past 10 years, primarily working in community-based primary care settings. This experience has given me the opportunity to meet people from a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences. Understanding that each person is unique, I provide a tailored approach to therapy.
My approach to therapy is rooted in warmth, humor, and empathy. I believe that you are the expert on your life and I am here to guide you towards your goals. Together we will identify your strengths, uncover behaviors and coping mechanisms, and create goals that will help you achieve the life you've been dreaming of. With a decade of experience serving people from all walks of life, I believe that my holistic approach to therapy allows me to identify and connect with clients facing all sorts of challenges.
I'm Mike Smukler, a licensed mental health counselor with nearly 20 years of experience working with adults across Massachusetts. Before this work, I was on track to become a documentary filmmaker, and in 2004 I spent a year on a suicide hotline that changed the direction of my life. Both taught me the same thing: pay close attention, don’t rush people, and trust that people usually know more about themselves than they let on.
Since then I’ve worked across private practice, outpatient care, and community mental health, and I’ve also held clinical supervision and leadership roles supporting other clinicians.
Today, I work with adults of all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ clients, and I bring a depth-oriented approach that draws from psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and ACT - practiced without rigidity. rigidity. I've trained with the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy and the Mindfulness Center of Maine. Sessions are available via telehealth on Saturday mornings/afternoon (soon to be Tuesday through Saturday morning/afternoon) across Massachusetts.
